"La Jeune Fille a la Fleur" by Marc Riboud, October 21, 1967

1. I chose this photo because of the message is gives to the viewer. There is men with guns in the background and a woman placing a flower on one of the guns. A flower can represent peace and beauty, so in this picture "flower power" is overcoming the war.

2. The photographer obviously knew what he was doing and saw this perfect opportunity to capture this trifling moment in the soldiers and hatred flowing on one side of the photo.

3. I believe this photo made the top 40 is of the message it brings in and putting in display all the emotions flowing through the photo shows this photographer knew what he was doing and he meant to capture this exact moment in time.

1. I chose this image due to the action appearing in it. This photo shows the true scenes of war and and really makes you think.

2. This photo's epic moment and being able to capture it is extraordinary.

3.  This photo made the top 40 probably because of the scene that is being displayed. This scene was real and it actually happened and when you think about it you are grateful to the photographer on capturing this epic moment of troops waging into war.

1. I chose this photo because of the emotion in the soldier's eyes. What I see is strength in the midst of pain and war.

2.  This photo's outstanding angle and focus.

3. The photos iconic scenery and focus on the emotion on the soldier. Photo's cannot feel emotions, but in this photo all emotions known to man can be brought into this one image.
